Alessia Maria's Light of Love Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to honor the life of Alessia Maria Melillo and to carry her light forward—turning her love, kindness, and compassion into meaningful acts of hope and support for children and families in need.

Alessia was born on November 20, 2017, bringing immense joy and light into the lives of her family from the very beginning. Though small in size, she was a mighty fighter, facing life’s challenges with incredible strength, courage, and an ever-present smile. Alessia was known for her sweet spirit, infectious giggle, and deep empathy—touching everyone she met with her kindness and love.

On January 1, 2025, our lives changed forever.

​

After an emergency trip to the hospital, doctors discovered a mass in Alessia’s brain. She was diagnosed with Diffuse Midline Glioma in her Thalamus with Grade 4 Glioblastoma—an aggressive and terminal form of brain cancer.

​

For 125 days, our brave girl fought with unimaginable courage, grace, and her beautiful, unshakable smile. Through it all, Alessia remained the kind, loving, joyful little girl who touched everyone around her.

 

On May 5, 2025, at just 7 years old, Alessia gained her angel wings.

 

Though her time on Earth was far too short, the impact she made will last forever. Alessia will be remembered as a beautiful soul who showed us the true meaning of love, compassion, and bravery. She lives on in the hearts of those who loved her and in the light she brought into the world.
